Hello little baby. This week you are as big as a PEACH! We are excited to find out if you are a HE or SHE in a couple weeks. I am feeling great this week. I crave orange juice, which I hated before I was pregnant. Spring has started and my allergies are horrible. Aside from that I feel great. Today is the last day of March which means it is conference weekend. I am looking forward to spending the whole weekend in pj's on the couch with Daddy. This is our last conference together, because you will be here just in time for the next one. Wow. I really love conference, I love the opportunity to listen to the words of our prophet and receive answers to our prayers. Want to know a secret? Last conference in October we had talked about possibly starting our family. We have been thinking about it and knew that we needed to listen to our Heavenly Father for an answer. It happened to be that during the Saturday session of conference we heard a talk by Elder Anderson about families, and that was our answer. We are usually too busy to listen on Saturdays and we both happened to be at work that day. For whatever reason, we were both in the right place at the right time and caught that talk. I started to cry when I heard what was being said. I knew that was our answer. I waited till Dad got home to tell him what I had heard and before I could say anything he had already told me he heard that talk. So we knew that this year at some point we needed to start trying, and by surprise you came a few months later. Quicker than we thought but we were still excited.

13 weeks
Today was the second doctors appointment and Dr. Judd was out of town on a family emergency. Which I didn't mind considering I have had a fairly easy pregnancy (in comparison to others) and I don't have a ton of questions for the doctor. We have not felt you move again since that day but that's alright, apparently I should not feel anything for a while longer. I got to hear your heartbeat again, today it was at 153 BPM. The theory states that if your baby’s heart rate was 140 beats per minute and above, you would be having a girl. If the heart rate was under 140 beats per minute, then you would be having a boy. This time I got to listen for a minute and had to record it because your Dad could not come to this appointment. In 3 weeks we find out if you are a boy or a girl. According to several wives tales this is what we have decided so far.
It's a boy if:
- You didn't experience morning sickness in early pregnancy.
- Your baby's heart rate is less than 140 beats per minute.
- You are carrying the extra weight out front.
- Your belly looks like a basketball.
- Your areolas have darkened considerably.
- You are carrying low.
- You are craving salty or sour foods.
- You are craving protein -- meats and cheese.
- Your feet are colder than they were before pregnancy.
- The hair on your legs has grown faster during pregnancy.
- Your hands are very dry.
- Your pillow faces north when you sleep.
- Dad-to-be is gaining weight right along with you.
- Pregnancy has you looking better than ever.
- Your urine is bright yellow in color.
- Your nose is spreading.
- You hang your wedding ring over your belly and it moves in circles.
- You are having headaches.
- You add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived and the sum is an even number.
It's a girl if:
- You had morning sickness early in pregnancy.
- Your baby's heart rate is at least 140 beats per minute.
- You are carrying the weight in your hips and rear.
- Your left breast is larger than your right breast.
- Your hair develops red highlights.
- You are carrying high.
- Your belly looks like a watermelon.
- You are craving sweets.
- You are craving fruit.
- You crave orange juice.
- You don't look quite as good as normal during pregnancy.
- You are moodier than usual during pregnancy.
- Your face breaks out more than usual.
- You refuse to eat the heel of a loaf of bread.
- Your breasts have really blossomed!
- Your pillow faces south when you sleep.
- Your urine is a dull yellow color.
- You hang your wedding ring over your belly and it moves from side
- You add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived and the sum is an odd number. 23+12=35
The bold are things I currently having and so at this point, it looks like you are a girl!

Your mom is a Hippy
One day of the year at least. Its one of the only fun things to do in Utah and it only happens once a year. You could say its a tradition for me. This year I took you came along for the ride.
When you are older I will take you again. It's lots of fun.

12 weeks
Three months in and I'm already a bad mother. I keep forgetting to take pictures. The issue I have is that for a few weeks I had a bump and it seemed to look pretty real. I could not fit in my pants and had to wear maternity pants for a while. Well suddenly the bump is gone. I'm back in my regular jeans and just look like I've put on a couple pounds. So strange. That being said, I didn't really want to take pictures because there isn't much to take pictures of.
On a happy note, we felt you move for the first time Thursday night (3/15). It was great. It was just the tiniest little flutter but I'm sure that was you. Then again on Saturday night just as I closed my eyes to fall asleep, you started to do back flips or something and I woke up Dad to make him feel. And there you did it, three big taps. I have not felt you since but it was a comfort to know you were still in there. You go a month between doctor appointments and your mind starts to worry about how much can happen in a month. Next week we will see the doctor and hear your heartbeat again. And after today you are in the "safe zone" and I am less likely to miscarry. We officially announced the pregnancy and people could not be happier. You are already so loved.

10 weeks
Here you are. Mommy is feeling more fat every day but I have managed to only gain two pounds. I have felt great this whole week. Let's hope this continues and the worst is over. We told the rest of the family this week. Everyone is excited and I think it got aunt Lindsay's brain moving and they might have another.

Little one.
There you are little one. Growing inside me. I love you already.
And no my tummy isn't quite that big already, I am trying really hard to push it out.
