First day of Pre School 2015-2016

Today was Madison's first day in Pre School. She is going to Love 2 Learn Academy in Lindon, Utah. MWF from 1-3pm. It is an amazing Pre School. Her teachers name is Miss Rachael. There are 6 kids in her class. Madison was excited all summer to go to Pre School and then suddenly this past weekend was very much against it and threw a fit any time it was mentioned. This morning she woke up and the fit continued. Then we remembered Best Friend Grandma was home today and Madi agreed that if BFGM took her to school she would go. Grandma happily said yes and we all took her to school. She was a little timid at first and not so sure about it but then once we left her teacher said she did great. Hopefully the rest of the week goes smoothly.

Bedtime is still super rough, especially when Daddy isn't home to help and I have to try and balance two kids alone. Hopefully she will start sleeping through the night in her OWN bed soon. We are running out of ideas to keep her in there.

Braden 2 months

Weight 11lb 13 oz
Height 22 inches
Size 3 month clothing
Size 1 diapers

Only takes 45 minute long naps. Sleeps "through the night" kinda. Goes to bed around 8 and sleeps for 5 hours. Wakes up to eat and falls right back asleep. Then wakes up two - three hours later to eat again. Then is up for the day around 6. Or sometimes will fall asleep till 7. It's so hard to want to be awake with you that early. Then when you're ready to go back to sleep around 8:30 am your sister wakes up. I used to be a morning person but lately it's been difficult. Momma misses her naps. If daddy didn't work the night before he is really good about taking you when you wake at 6 and snuggling you so I can sleep in.
You took your first bath with sister this month. I think you really liked it. Madison was happy to have you there so I think it will become a regular thing. You don't kick and squeal as much as Madison did but maybe later you will.
Madison loves to hold you at all hours of the day. Mostly she likes to snuggle you while she watches her show before bed.
You love to sleep with your hands by your face and try your hardest to wiggle out of being swaddled to get those hands out.
You took your first trip to the zoo with our friends the Harmers. It was so hot but you demanded to be held in the baby wrap the whole time. Talk about sweaty. We have a sweet double stroller but you hate being in it so that kinda sucks, mostly I just carry you in the baby wrap.

You've started to smile and respond when people talk to you. It melts my heart. You don't "talk" much. I remember Madison talking more by now but that's ok. You are my sweet, calm, loving little boy. You love to hold my hand when you're eating and your favorite place to nap is on my chest

Last night you got to spend some one on one time with me in the ER. my heart decided to have flutters all day long and I thought I was going to pass out. So we left Madison to have a sleep party with mimi and daddy and I went to the er. I'm hooked up to a heart monitor for the weekend to figure out what's going. Hopefully it's not anything big.

I breed non sleepers

I was thinking about it the other day, as I went back and read early entries from when madi was born. I realized that I am not doing as many middle of the night posts. That's probably because Braden is a,dare I say it, better newborn then Madison was. Maybe it's because it's the second time around and I am more relaxed and flexible with things. Braden eats around 8pm and goes to bed after. He's first wake up is between 1-2 am. Then again three hours later and again three hours after that. However, he likes to wake up for the day at 6:30 am. We are trying to teach him to sleep in but it's a little hard. Then by the time he is ready for a nap (and me too) Madison wakes up so there is no nap for mommy. Braden does not like to take naps during the day. He wants to be held to nap and it's just not possible to do when you have so much to do during the day. But again, I will count my blessings that he does so much better at night.

Braden's blessing

Our dear heavenly father, we come to you this day with this infant in our arms to give him a name and a blessing.

The name which he should be known on the record of the church is Braden Allen Lyman.

Braden at this time we give you a blessing. We bless you with our Heavenly Fathers spirit, that you will always be protected from the evils of this world.  That you will always be able to see thee evil for what it is and choose the light that will bring you closer to your Heavenly Father. We bless you to be a peacemaker. Whether at home or in the world, you always have a peaceful countenance that others can turn to; and know of their saviors love for them and be a good example to them in this life.

We bless you that you will grow and build a strong testimony of the Savior and His restored gospel. We bless you when the time comes, that you will be a strong and powerful missionary. That you will bring lots of His fathers children to the gospel.

We bless you to marry in the temple and to raise a happy family. We bless you with the strength of your testimony; that you will share it with others in this world and continue to share the light and love of the gospel. We bless you this day with all those things that our Heavenly Father sees important for you in your life and know that we love you.

and do so In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Braden Blessing Day Pictures

Church is at 1pm. After the blessing our family piled in to cars and headed to the park for lunch. The entire time we set up the food there was a downpour of rain and lots of thunder. Thankfully after about 20 minutes the rain stopped and it was a pleasant cloudy afternoon. We are so thankful to have so many family members close by to show support for our little family. We are also thankful that there was a large COVERED eating area so we all stayed dry.

Madison went in the car with Aaron's family and told them that "my dad messed up. His name is Bubba". We about died laughing. Braden had a very fussy morning and spent most of the day crying and upset. I was so worried he would cry through his blessing. He fell asleep just before church and woke up as it started. I quickly gave him a bottle and it was go time. He did GREAT! quiet the entire time. Then once we sat down, Braden got fussy and I took him out. He pooped.. alot. Then after a diaper change we went back in sacrament meeting and he was all smiles. We love our baby boy and are so lucky to have him in our family.
