Ugh

Tonight I am slightly upset with you. You see two nights ago you slept through the night 8:30-4:30. It was a dream come true and I was excited for this new phase in life. As you can imagine, mothers can only go so long running on very little sleep. I have tried since that night to recreate you sleeping through the night but you have yet to do it again. It's like some cruel joke.

I'm starting to hit my breaking point with you. All of my friends babies are already sleeping through the night and they have been doing it for a while, so what the crap am I doing wrong?! For heavens sakes you are formula fed and those babies are supposed to sleep longer because of that. It's not like we have parties during the night that you are missing out on and I'm not even asking that you sleep 10+ hours. But a consistent and solid 8 would be fantastic. I hope this happens soon baby girl cuz your mom is about to go insane.......

I almost wish you had never done it in the first place and gotten my hopes up like that. But hey it's hard to be mad at you or long because you're so damn cute.

Busy day

It's time for another one of my late night posts. It seems to be the only time I can find a spare second for just myself.

One thing I love about you, Madison, is that you are a pretty go with the flow kid. I can take you just about anywhere with few complaints. Today you, dad and I went to the movies. (A task I thought I could never do after having kids) and you did great as usual. You sleep through most of it but then wake up and enjoy your bottle while you watch the rest of the movie. You love to watch tv and it cracks me up.

This evening we met up with your cousins to see Santa and go on a carriage ride. Again per your usual, you slept the entire time. Until dinner when you promptly woke up and demanded that you be held and walked around while we ate. I swear you have a 6th sense when your mother picks up a fork. It happens 9 times out of 10. Lucky for me, today you have been attached to your Dad and will only let him hold you. Though its slightly heartbreaking for me, Dad enjoyed every minute.

Currently you are asleep on my chest and laughing in your sleep. Melts my heart. You have brought so much joy into my life and I don't know what I would do without you. I can't believe it's already been three months. As cliche as it is, time really is flying by. You have pretty much set into a schedule and I am good at reading the signs to know what you want. I'm really getting the hang of this parenting thing. Woohoo!

Where the red fern goes

I'm sure we have all had to read the book "where the red fern grows" at some point in our lives. If you haven't , it's a heart wrenching story about a boy and his dog with an ending that is sure to make you cry your eyes out.

Well here is a story of a girl and her dog. I've had Sophie for two years now. She was found on the side of the road and was rescued weighing only one pound and covered with ringworm. She was scared of people and abused in her last home. She was a sad little dog but there was something about her that I just couldn't say no. Now you should know that I have a huge soft spot for dogs and I am in trouble when my children start asking for one. The answer will probably always be yes. So after spending every day for a week taking care of her and never leaving her side , she began to trust me. We became fast friends and I loved her so much.

However two years passed and my sweet Madison came into my life. Sophie had to take a back seat to you and she was very jealous. Things got worse as the months went on and the dog started acting out for attention. This was NOT ok. So after much thought, we decided Sophie needed to live out her days with someone who would love her unconditionally. We found Fern. The sweetest old lady you could ever meet. It was the hardest thing to do but no matter what happens in life, my children will always come first.

Three months

You coo back at momma
You wake up and grunt at 5 am everyday but I make you come cuddle and sleep till 9
You no longer like to take naps during the day and the only way I can get you to sleep is holding you or putting you in the swing. You love the swing.
You fell asleep twice this week while in the bath. I think you would spend all day on there if I would let you.
You still sleep in our room but you will until we move out of grandma and grandpa Lyman's.
you are still trying to learn to suck your thumb
You are sort of on a schedule but I'm really bad at enforcing it. I try to get you to eat at 9,1,5 and after your 9 at night bottle you usually stay asleep till 2:30. I'm hoping you start to go longer.
You are getting better at eating and not taking huge gulps of air, which is helping with your gas.
You now wiggle out of your sleep positioner at night so we can no longer use it.
Most of the hair on the top of your head has fallen out and what is coming back is very light brown
We moved you to size one diapers mostly because you now pee more then the newborns can hold even though you will fit in them.
You still wear newborn clothes but I have been putting you in 0-3 sometimes because I'm bored of the selection.
You really like to watch tv and are becoming more expressive.
No one is funnier then your mom.
I love that when you are upset or when I'm feeding you you grab my hand tightly and don't let go.
You always pull your blanket up by your face. It calms you down and you seep better but it terrifies me.

Zzzz

Apparently bath time now puts you to sleep. You are definitely my water baby! I can't wait for the pool this summer!
