Dog lover

I used to love dogs. Yes I used past tense. All my life I have loved the four legged poop machines, but now, I hate them. That may seem like a strong word to use and I do still tear up at those silly ASPCA commercials but I no longer want them in my home.

I've always had my own dog growing up. First baby, then lance, Bentley and finally Sophie. They were all great dogs and were wonderful companions to have in my life. However Mimi and grandpa have 4 of them and it is the worst. They bark, bite, growl, and crap everywhere. Do you know how hard it is to get a baby to sleep when FOUR dogs go ape every time someone makes a noise?!? ugh!! not to mention that this house is tiny and the walls are paper thin. I actually hate coming here now that I have a kid. Marty is evil and we put a shock collar and muzzle on him but it does not seem to stop him from wanting to tear you to shreds. Which means I can't leave you alone or set you down to play with toys. It's driving me mad. Is it mean to say I can't wait till they are all gone? They are piddle pad trained and I can just see you crawling all over them when you are mobile. Yuck. Much more of this and we will have to go stay at great grandma websters house so I can keep my sanity. That will kill your grandparents but there isn't much else I can do. I'm going crazy Madison!

Here is the thing, We gave Sophie to a good home shortly after you were born because she just needed so much attention and we weren't able to give that to her so she started acting up. All my dogs have always been excellently trained and are well behaved so it broke my heart to see her go. I understand my parents can't give their older dogs away because they aren't trained among other reasons. But I think I can promise you here and now that we will not have a dog in our home until 1. We own a house 2. You are old enough to pick up the poop 3. I am done having children and they are all over the age of two. 4. we can afford to put them in dog training classes. I know this may sound extreme and when you are 6 years old and begging for a puppy I hope you will one day understand. But you better believe that once all those things happen you will get your puppy... Maybe even two. :) but for now let's just enjoy our puppy-less life.
